Chocolate Nut Cookies

These nutty chocolate cookies have a nice crackle top highlighted by the use of powdered sugar. If you need a nice big batch of easy little cookies, these are a good choice. Makes about 4 dozen 1/2 cup Earth Balance or other vegan buttery spread 1/2 cup dry unsweetened cocoa powder 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed 1/2 cup plain or vanilla nondairy milk 2 cups whole wheat pastry flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg or allspice 1/2 cup walnuts, very finely chopped 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips powdered sugar for topping Preheat the oven to 350°F.
